A lead carpenter in his early 60s fell roughly seven feet from a ladder while on the job, landing on his back, neck, and head on a concrete floor. He reported the injury to his employer right away and, after a single day off, tried to keep working. About two weeks later, he could no longer continue, and he sought hospital treatment shortly afterward.

A career ironworker in his 40s was helping lower a beam by hand when the crane operator suddenly dropped it. The beam struck his left arm and shoulder. His trade is a physically demanding one, calling for repetitive reaching, pushing, pulling, and carrying, along with frequent heavy lifting.

A labor foreman in her 50s, about two years into her job with a construction company, was moving concrete slabs in a container when the container overturned. The slabs struck her left knee and pinned her underneath. She freed herself and finished her shift, but over the following days she developed significant pain and instability in the knee. 

A plumber was driving a company van in the course of his work when another vehicle struck the van from behind and left the scene. Dash-camera footage from the van allowed police to identify the other vehicle, and its owner was cited after repeated attempts to reach him went unanswered. The plumber was injured in the collision. 

An electrician with more than three decades at the same company fell from a ladder while stapling wires and injured his right knee. He reported the fall, sought treatment immediately, and kept working. When conservative care did not help, he underwent arthroscopic surgery on the meniscus and went out of work. He returned to the job after surgery, but the pain eventually became so severe that he was advised to stop working again.
